Ali soars for love
Last night on 'The Bachelorette' host Chris Harrison told us that there would be two individual dates and one group date.
El guapo Roberto went on the first individual date with Ali. On the first night in the manor house he received the first-impression rose and has made feel Ali feel comfortable ever since then. Ali reminded us once again that she is afraid of flying giving Roberto a chance to comfort her on their helicopter ride to the top of a random skyscraper. However they had to tightrope to another skyscraper for their dinner.
Their first kiss took place as they ventured across the tightrope. And, yes, Ali most people have never had a first kiss like that before either! Ali gives Roberto a rose. Safe! (Did you know he was drafted by the Rockies?)
The group date is next, and it includes Frank, Craig, Rated R, Jonathan, Jesse, John, Kirk, Chris N. and Chris L. Ali and the boys meet the band The Barenaked Ladies and get to be part of the band's new video for "You Run Away," which all the Bachelors can relate to because Ali always runs away from them. Get it?
Ali appears in a vignette with each of the bachelors. Some more awkward than others, specifically Jonathon (weatherman). Having to kiss Ali on camera throws him into an emotional wreck making him cry and viewers cringe. Does he not realize that kissing her anytime during this show will be on-camera?
Apparently, Rated R didn't get enough alone time with Ali. He decides to walk to Ali's house the next day. On crutches. No easy task. He arrives just as Ali is video-taping her thoughts about Hunter. They look at some photos of his family and they have a relaxed conversation on her couch. She drives him back to the mansion and is pretty touched by the whole thing. I'm just not sure why Justin didn't just call a cab or something.
Back at the house the guys get on Rated-R and whether or not he is there for the right reasons. Rated-R gets emotional about it and sheds tears. Not something expected from our "professional" "entertainment" "wrestler". I'm not really sure what to make of Justin/Rated-R. I don't hate him like I hated Vienna (engaged to The Bachelor's Jake). But the guys see something that Ali doesn't see.
Ali, later picks up Hunter for their one-on-one date. Awk. Ward. They are both in jeans and seem relaxed. The date is relaxed: a simple Barbecue at her house followed by a dip in the hot-tub. The self-proclaimed slow mover tries to talk to Ali about her family and childhood but nothing gets deeper than that. The alcohol and hot tub combo didn't sizzle things up for them and she proclaimed him to be a great friend. Goodbye Hunter. Poor guy he seems so nice. Just not for Ali.
At the pre-rose-ceremony boozefest, Ali accidentally tells Roberto about
Rated R's little off-the-books hike. Oops. Certainly he is the most hated in the house now. I'm hoping that this stunt
inspires more creative wooing techniques. Ty believes him to be some sort of two-face.
The rose ceremony is boring. John and Steve go home. They didn't make a huge impression, I am not crying over my cereal.
The best part of the episode is during the credits, where Chris L. and Steve try to trap a mouse in the house. I want to hang out with these guys.
